About our forecasts
WeatherNZ presents weather forecasts and current conditions for locations across New Zealand, drawn from third-party meteorological data providers (currently Open-Meteo). Forecasts are computer-generated predictions, not guarantees. Weather is inherently uncertain, and the actual conditions you experience may differ from what is shown.
Weather data & attribution
Weather data on WeatherNZ is provided by Open-Meteo.com and is licensed under CC BY 4.0. Forecasts are computer-generated model output and may differ from observed conditions.
Not for safety-critical decisions
The information here is provided for general interest and convenience only. Please don’t rely on it for any decision where weather could affect safety, health, or property — including aviation, marine, alpine, agricultural, or emergency situations. For warnings and safety-critical forecasts, always consult official sources such as MetService.

WeatherNZ is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t warrant that the site will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
